The Hills Shire Council has released a draft plan for the development of the Castle Hill North precinct.
The proposal follows the start of the North West Rail Link and puts forward a number of ideas for the area, including a railway station and more residential buildings close to Castle Hill Town Centre.
Hills Shire Mayor Councillor Andrew Jefferies said public comments were an important part of the planning stages. He said:
“This plan is not set in stone. The exhibition phase is all about putting a plan out there and listening to the community perspective.”
According to the council, more than 100,000 people are expected to move into the Hills Shire over the next 25 years, and Councillor Jeffries said the council hoped to accommodate many of them in housing close to town centres, allowing easy access to transport and facilities.
Printing services have been used to create maps and other information boards about the plans for Castle Hill North, which will be on show at Castle Hill Library.
Residents can also speak to council staff about the plan at a drop-in session on Saturday, February 14th from 11am to 3pm.
The information can also be found online, and submissions close on Friday, February 27th.
