Country music coming to Hills Shire

Folk fans from Castle Hill can indulge their passion this year with the Sydney Country Music Festival, which is set to be held over a weekend for the first time.

The popular event is usually only scheduled for one day but, due to its popularity last year, organisers have extended the show to two days for 2015.

More than 20 Australian and international acts have been lined up, including headliners like popular singer Adam Brand and Tasmanian four-piece The Wolfe Brothers.

This month, another seven performers have been announced, including country rocker Travis Collins and award-winning singer Becky Cole. Country music disc jockey Ron Trundle has also been revealed as this year’s festival ambassador.

As well as attracting local fans, last year’s festival also brought in a number of people from outside the Shire, with Hill Shire Mayor Andrew Jefferies saying that around 70 per cent of the 6,000 people who attended came from outside the area.

This is a good opportunity for Castle Hill businesses to increase sales and companies, especially those in hospitality and accommodation owners, might like to use flyer printing to advertise special deals for festival-goers.

The festival takes place on Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st, and is held at nearby Bella Vista Farm. More acts will be announced nearer the time. Tickets are on sale now through the festival website.
