At a meeting in April, the Hills Shire Council agreed to two proposals aimed specifically at cafes and restaurants.
The first is to relax parking provisions to benefit eateries based in Main Street. The second, aimed at dining areas based outdoors, is to extend the free licence time period by another three years.
The changes are designed to encourage more food-related businesses into the area. The Hills Shire mayor, Councillor Andrew Jefferies, said Main Street had been transformed in recent years and was becoming a major destination in the Hills. He commented:
“I want to see a vibrant, active and attractive Castle Hill Main Street, that will help grow our night time economy and contribute to a better quality of life.”
In the past few years, a number of new restaurants of opened and later this year, the Pocket Bar Group, which runs several eateries in central Sydney and Central Coast, will be bringing one of their bars to Main Street.
New businesses opening in the area, might like to use flyer printing to help promote themselves to local residents. Flyers could include a sample menu, and perhaps even a special opening offer.
