The management of Castle Hill’s Arthur Whitling Park is the subject of a draft plan for which The Hills Shire is inviting written submissions.
This latest chapter in the life of the popular park, which sits above the Metro Station at Castle Hill, follows its return to the local community by Sydney Metro.
In 2012, Transport NSW, which is now known as Sydney Metro, resumed the local park as part of works associated with building the Castle Hill and Sydney Metro Northwest Station, which is now complete. The park is in a central location within the CBD being close to transport links and retail hubs.
Its recent return to The Hills Shire marks a new era of servicing the community for the popular park and Mayor Michelle Byrne is eager to include residents in shaping its future and deciding on how best to gain maximum benefit from the community space.
Councillor Byrne said the opportunity to have a say on its future was an important one and she looked forward to the community’s assistance in creating something truly special that everyone can enjoy.
Popular parks such as this have often been featured in promotional brochure printing to spark the interest of tourists visiting the area.
Written submissions about the park’s Management Draft plan must be received by December 23, via mail or the council’s website.
