Dogs will be the star of a new show to be held at the Castle Hill Showground in August.
The Dogs on the Grass festival will be run for the first time after the organisers found they always had to travel outside the area to find good events to visit with their pets.
The event is being organised by Ryan Harvey and Wayne Frendo, who run pet fashion company Haus of Harley Dogwear, and will be free to attend.
Mr Harvey said the pair often travelled around to events with their dogs but had never seen an event like it in the Hills Shire. A Facebook group set up to publicise the event had so far proved popular with many people. The duo could also use poster printing to advertise the event around the Shire and at local dog parks.
The festival will include live music and entertainment and food stalls as well as stalls selling dog products and services such as accessories and toys and veterinary services. Other plans include a photo booth where pet owners will be able to have a picture with their furry friend and competitions.
The organisers are currently accepting expressions of interest from stall holders wishing to take part in the event.
The festival will be held on Sunday August 21st at the Dog Ring at the Castle Hill Showground and will run from 10am to 3pm.
