A course designed for beginner basketball coaches will take place in Castle Hill later this year.
The Hills Basketball Association in Castle Hill is presenting the “Club Coaching Course” in summer, for a qualification that was originally known as “Level 1”.
The new programme replaces the former course and is comprised of six hours of practical work on the court, combined with a single hour of training online.
The association is well-known in Castle Hill for its basketball team, the Hills Hornets, which has a Logo Design featuring a cartoon insect dribbling a basketball dressed in the players’ uniform.
The upcoming course is the initial step for basketball coaches to obtain an official accreditation in their chosen sport. The information included on the course is designed to be broad, but touches on all the important elements required to coach a basketball team at both association and club level competitions. It is a nationally recognised accreditation and mandatory for any coach who wishes to perform their role at a representative level.
The coaching course is suited to individuals of all skill levels and will take place at the Hills Basketball Association on Saturday, November 12.
