Castle Hill to host cooking demonstration for increased health benefits

The Nutrition and Wellbeing Clinic in Castle Hill is hosting a cooking demonstration in April for those who wish to reduce their blood sugar levels and cholesterol.

The event aims to educate attendees on the Portfolio Diet, created by Dr. David Jenkins. This diet is a modification of the vegetarian diet and is believed to reduce elevated cholesterol levels by up to 30% through incorporating cholesterol lowering foods.

Participants will be given valuable information regarding superfoods and their benefits, enabling them to work toward reducing their medication and improving their overall health and wellbeing under their doctor’s guidance.

The demonstration teaches participants interesting ways to create tasty meals with nature’s superfoods including ingredients such as nuts, soy, okra, eggplant, barley and psyllium. Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen to take notes during the demonstration.

The session provides interesting nutritional information and tips, comprehensive cooking demonstrations, taste-testing of a variety of foods and some healthy recipes to take home. Event organisers often utilise printing services to create handouts for those attending workshops.

The ‘Smart Foods to Drop Your Cholesterol and Blood Sugar’ demonstration will take place at the Nutrition and Wellbeing Clinic in Castle Hill on Tuesday 7th April from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Attendees are able to purchase tickets through Eventbrite. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another demonstration class.

It is recommended to check whether the event is still happening.
