Castle Hill residents invited to night of author conversation

Residents of Castle Hill are invited to an online author conversation featuring Lauren Chater discussing her new novel, Gulliver’s Wife, and Meg Keneally, author of The Wreck and co-author of the Monsarrat historical crime series.

Gulliver’s Wife focuses on the life of Mary Burton Gulliver, a herbalist and midwife who must learn to live without Gulliver when her husband is reported to be lost at sea. When he is returned home after three years, she must then navigate a way through fear and suspicion to ensure herself, her daughter and the women she cares for remain safe while attempting to find the truth about what happened on Gulliver’s travels.

Gulliver’s Wife is rated five stars on the Booktopia website, and is described by the site as:

“An absolutely gripping read, with a powerful and ultimately hopeful story to tell.”

Chater’s previous novel, The Lace Weaver, was also very well reviewed.

The virtual author talk is held with the support of the NSW Public Libraries Association and the publishing house Simon & Schuster. Authors and publishing houses sometimes use banner printing services for author talks held in bookstores and other locations.

The online event will be held on Thursday, November 12 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. As numbers are limited, bookings are essential. To book your place, or for more information, see the Hill’s Shire Council Website.
