Award winning theatre company to perform in Castle Hill

The history of Wiseman and the Hawkesbury is to be retold in a Victorian melodrama performed by Convict Footprints Productions at the Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill.

The Women of Wisemans is set in 1888 and has billed as ‘a dark and twisty tale full of love, death, family and ferries’

Convict Footprints is a not-for-profit organisation which specialises in creating living history productions, bringing to life stories from our colonial past for both educational and public performances.

The ‘Theatre in the Wild’ performances are often held at the actual site of the historical events portrayed. Cockatoo Island, the first quarantine station at Manly, the Macarthur Farm and the first government asylum have all been subjects and sites of their productions.

Professional actors engage with the audience to give them an entertaining and memorable taste of the past. The company has received awards from the National Trust and tourism organisations.

The Women of Wisemans has an all-female cast and an impressive body count. The audience are encouraged to immerse themselves in the experience. Shows and performances such as this often use poster printing featuring the cast to inform the public of the show dates.

The show will be performed at the newly commissioned Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill on Saturday 15th December at 7:00pm. Tickets can be booked online. Concession rates apply.
