Brookvale’s senior residents have been invited to a Travelling Home and Away workshop being run by Northern Beaches Council.
A Council spokesman said the course provided an opportunity to gain handy travel tips for those intending to pursue the popular retirement dream of travelling around Australia, or exploring overseas destinations.
He said the first thing most intending travellers do is to gather information from travel Brochures and Holiday Cards, but the course offered tips and ideas towards gaining optimum results from every part of the travel process.
To be held over two sessions, three hours long, the free course will be presented at the Ted Blackwood Hall in Warriewood on August 10 and 17.
The first session, the spokesman said, will be focused on Travelling Around Home and is set to feature a presentation by the NRMA, as well as informative sessions on transport and driving.
This will be followed up at the final session on August 17 with important information about overseas, interstate and statewide travel. The topic of Travel and Technology will also be covered.
The spokesman said there will be many highlights including useful communications apps such as Viber and Skype, breakdown safety, trip planning, managing fatigue, physical fitness, changes to legislation and accessible services.
Course bookings, which are free but essential, close on August 5.
