With the National Rugby League (NRL) season fast approaching, the Manly Sea Eagles are keen to secure a venue in Brookvale, New South Wales as their home base.
The club has put forward an offer of $220,000 to Warringah Council for use of the Brookvale Oval in 2016.
According to a Sea Eagles spokesman, the offer was significantly higher than the amount paid for similar superior venues by NRL teams in the competition.
He said it was hoped an amicable and quick resolution could be achieved.
Concerns about the condition of the pitch at Brookvale Oval have sparked a tense period between the Sea Eagles and Council, which Mayor Michael Regan is keen to put an end to.
He said it was time that both parties began working together once again to solve the issue and had previously indicated that once a club offer had been received, he would put it up for consideration at the February 16 council meeting.
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles games attract thousands of fans to the location regularly throughout the NRL season. Personalised Postcards, Corporate Gifts and T-Shirts are among a wide range of promotional items for which there is a strong and constant demand.
The 2016 season, which represents the Sea Eagles’ 70th year at the site, is due to kick off on March 4 against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
