Brookvale seniors will be kept busy this month with a host of activities lined up as part of this year’s Seniors Festival.
The fun event, which has been highlighted on Calendars of people over 60 for some time, caters for more than 50 community organisations and groups across New South Wales’ Northern Beaches Council area.
A Northern Beaches Council spokesman said the festival will include in excess of 150 events, adding that the fun activities will be distributed among venues across the Northern Beaches, and will include everything from improving physical fitness and trying out modern technology, to cooking, dance and travel.
The festival was made possible by a large team of committed people, businesses and organisations who shared a common goal to make this year’s Seniors Festival a great experience for all participants.
In addition, Northern Beaches Council will present a host of activities, ranging from fixing kids’ toys and travel workshops, to aquatic exercise sessions, coastal walks and community lunches.
Also included on the events Brochures are presentations, lectures, Men’s Shed cooking sessions, dancing and, for the slightly more adventurous, kayaking.
A Seniors Directory that provides information about support and services has also been developed by Northern Beaches Council and is available from Council libraries, various service providers, customer service areas and community centres.
The three-week Seniors Festival, which hosts the theme `Inclusive Communities’, will run until March 24.
