Australian distribution company Roadshow Entertainment has teamed up with brewing brand 4 Pines Brewing Co. to produce a film-themed beer – the appropriately named The Hateful Ale. Beer lovers in Brookvale will be able to try it at the 4 Pines Truck in their home town.
The alcohol is a Tripel, the European term used to describe a strong ale, and reportedly holds flavours of banana, clove and nut. Those after a more movie-oriented description need look no further than the official press release, which promises the drink:
“…hides a body that has as much kick as a civil war era shotgun.”
Roadshow Entertainment’s marketing services certainly went for an outside-the-box angle for The Hateful Eight’s home release, one that could very well attract more adults finding a surprising new beer at their local bar. It’s also a fitting move relating to Tarantino, who was vocal about his love for Aussie beer VB earlier this year.
Brookvale is one of only a handful of places in Australia where the beer can be sampled. Two others are the 4 Pines Brew Pub in Manly and The Wild Rover in Surry Hills.
The Hateful Ale will hit the aforementioned venues on tomorrow, May 25 – the very same day The Hateful Eight arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and digital.
