Feedback invited on Freshwater Beach project

Brookvale residents are among many locals within the Northern Beaches area to be invited to comment on a number of infrastructure proposals put forward for Freshwater Beach.

A masterplan for Freshwater Beach prioritises four sites on which works are to take place. The works are set to include the construction of a playground, designated seating spots, grassed areas, shelters and tables for picnics, electric barbeques and a lookout featuring terraced seating, as well as improved accessibility facilities such as new footpaths and ramps.

Mayor of Northern Beaches Michael Regan said Freshwater Beach was a popular place for many locals and visitors, and there was much anticipation for the latest infrastructure project. He added:

“These works have been some time in the making with the original masterplan adopted by Council in 2018. We now have concept designs that we are sharing with the community to get their input to hopefully move closer to implementation.”

The proposed beachfront renewal works are the first to be undertaken in 40 years, according to the Mayor.

Local printing services are often engaged to create signage for major projects involving new infrastructure.

Members of the community have until 14 August to view the concept design online and provide their thoughts. The feedback received will help to finalise designs for the project for which construction is projected to begin in the first half of 2023.
