The Cube Allied Health won the Inclusion Award for its services that cater for the needs of everyone of all abilities across the community, while Brookvale's Plus Fitness was runner-up.
The award's major sponsor is Northern Beaches Council, which backs the Sustainability and Inclusion awards respectively.
Mayor of Northern Beaches Michael Regan applauded the winners and all the businesses that participated in the 2020 awards, and said they all illustrated amazing resilience in an extremely tough year for the entire community.
He said this was the second consecutive year of sponsorship by the council for the Inclusion Award, and added:
"One in five Australians has some kind of disability, so making a business more accessible for everyone benefits the community as well as the business."
Modus Operandi, a microbrewery based in Mona Vale, was awarded top place in the Sustainability Award, with judges enamoured by the company's measured environmental advantages and significant innovation. In addition to its contributions to environmental and charitable organisations within the community, the company also incorporates green energy and recycled material into its production processes.
Sustainable methods and practices have often been highlighted on brochure printing campaigns circulated in many local government areas throughout Sydney.
