An origami challenge will be held later this month in Brookvale.
As part of the annual Manly Arts Festival, the event will be open to those who are interested in the Japanese art of folding paper. Participants can engage in a range of activities that are both competitive and fun. Individuals will be able to be hands-on during the day, and will be encouraged to create their own original masterpieces.
For those who have already mastered the skill of creating paper art, there will be the opportunity to showcase their creations and talk with other origami fans.
Winnie Leung brings with her a wealth of knowledge on origami, and she will be discussing its history and speaking about the different designs that the ancient art has traditionally created.
Members of Sydney Origami Inc. will be on hand at the challenge, to show off their designs and answer questions about their art. There are expected to be some interesting creations on display. Poster printing may be used to advertise this or other upcoming events.
Children are welcome to attend to festival, however they will need to be accompanied by an adult. Entry is by gold coin at the door and bookings are required.
The Origami Challenge will be held on Sunday 22nd September at 10:30am at the Shuffle Studio in Brookvale.
