The events will include pool parties and food trucks, ensuring there is something on offer for all to enjoy, according to CEO of Northern Beaches Council Ray Brownlee.
In a statement, Brownlee explained that the events represent what many people love about living in Australia and its vibrant and diverse community, and it was only fitting to celebrate what is one of the largest occasions on the Beaches and Australia's calendar throughout an entire month, adding:
“It’s not only a time to reflect on what it means to be Australian, but an opportunity to celebrate everything great about this beautiful country of ours and acknowledge our history.”
In past years, Australia Day celebrations have often been widely advertised via strategic poster printing campaigns encouraging residents to visit local pools, parks and beaches and attend the many community events.
Major Australia Day events will include a Food Truck Party from 11am to 4pm on 22 January at Tania Park in Balgowlah Heights, the Australian Made Markets from 8am to 1pm on 23 January at Dee Why's James Meehan Reserve and the Open Air Cinema from 5.30pm on 25 January at Mona Vale's Winnererremy Bay. In addition, pool parties will take place from 9am to 12pm on 26 January at the aquatic centres in Warringah and Manly.
