Spokane to throw music and food fest

Spokane will be holding a six-day food and music event at Riverfront Park to celebrate the end of summer.

Pig Out In The Park is a large-scale event where people can attend live concerts while trying food from more than 50 booths. Numerous shows will be held across three stages throughout the festival, including performances from the Bobby Patterson Band, Chase the Sun, and the Master Class Big Band.

Guests can get desserts from vendors such as Mary Lou's Ice Cream, Lonnie Bills Tropical Sno, and Azars Deep Fried Sweets. Other restaurants participating in the event include Mac Daddy's Gourmet Grub, Gourmet Soul, and Greek Flame Foods. Those 21 and over can order alcoholic drinks from the festival's three adults-only beverage gardens. There will also be 40 public market vendors for guests to browse.

The event is a collaborative project between Burke Marketing and the Six Bridges Arts Association. Since forming in 1979, the festival has contributed nearly $195,000 to food banks and hunger-prevention organizations. Those who coordinate annual city events similar to this may use Print shops to create outdoor Signs to market the festival to locals.

The food and music celebration will be held from August 31 to September 5. Each date of the fest will last from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. There are no admission fees for enjoying the event's musical performances.
