Keika Yamaguchi will be holding a course at the Spokane Public Library in May, during the Spokane Zine Fest.
Animal Character Design with Keika Yamaguchi is a workshop that will help artists elevate the appearance of their characters by learning about what makes good character design. The course will cover the visual clues people can incorporate into their creations to hint at the character’s personality traits and emotions. It is recommended that students come with pictures of the pet or animal they wish to work with during the program.
Keika Yamaguchi is an experienced artist who has been involved with several animated shows, such as the Looney Tunes Cartoons and Rocky and Bullwinkle. She has also illustrated several Books for children, including Puddle Pug and Teeny Tiny Toady. Yamaguchi majored in Visual Storytelling for Animation and was recently become the art director for the Frog and Toad tv show. She has worked with many notable organizations, like DreamWorksTV and Walt Disney Imagineering.
The lesson will be held on the third floor of the Spokane Public Library on Saturday, May 13 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. There is no cost to take part in Yamaguchi’s workshop, and all supplies for the class will be provided by the venue. Libraries that host activities like this may use poster printing to promote the workshops to patrons.
