Portland Spartan Sprint 5K and the Portland Spartan Trail 10K are coming to nearby Washougal in early August. This fast-paced 5K will include 20 obstacles situated in rugged terrain.
Elite racers will be released in waves of 150 runners, starting at 7:30 for men and 7:45 am for women. Age groups will be released between 8:00 am and 8:45 pm; morning start times will be from 9:00 am until 12:45 pm, and afternoon start times will be from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Saturday festival passes are $20.
Swag for the 5K includes a finisher medal, trifecta medal wedge piece, Honey Stinger Fuel and FITAID at the finish line, free professional photos, and a Craft Sprint Finisher T-shirt.
Portland Spartan Trail 10K runners can choose from 10K, Half Marathon, 10K Night Run, and the 50K. These races do not have obstacles but have the same start and finish areas and run through the same type of terrain as the 5K runners.
Finishers for these races receive a Spartan Trail Finisher Medal, including a Trailfecta Wedge, free professional photos, and finisher shirts sporting the Spartan Trail Logo Design. The 10K run begins at 7:50 am.
Camas kids have their own Spartan races, ranging from a half-mile fun run to a two-mile competitive race. All races include crawling, climbing, balance beams, and natural obstacles.
Portland Spartan Sprint 5K takes place August 7 at Washougal MX Park, 40205 NE Borin Road, Washougal.
