Sugar Land welcomes friendly ghosts and goblins
The City of Sugar Land will be presenting its free annual Halloween Town a few days before Halloween. No gruesome or bloody elements will be admitted.
Kids can pick out their own pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and jump in the bounce house. Fall-and-Halloween themed activity stations will be set up to entertain both kids and adults. Special entertainment is being lined up. Vendors will be onsite to sell Halloween treats and drinks.
The highlight of the day will be the costume contest. Everyone will want to sign up for one of the six categories. Each category has a half-hour time slot. Pets in all their Halloween finery will be the first group of contestants. They will be followed by the 3-year-olds and under. Next will come the 4- to 7-year-olds, and they will be followed by the 8 to 11’s. The 12-year olds and older will compete right before the group category. Winners in all events will be having their pictures taken by family and friends for family calendars, personalized stationery and future poster printing.
Since there will be no registration at the site, those interested will need to sign up on line before the event.
Halloween Town will be at City Hall Plaza on Sugar Land Town Square, 15958, Sugar Land from 4 until 8 pm. The pet costume contest will begin at 4:30 pm.
