Sugar Land participates in annual stampede
The Texas Exes Houston Chapter's 47th Annual Lone Star Stampede 5k/10k will be coming to Sugar Land at the end of January.
The course will be through Brazos River Park, scenic, well-marked and appropriate for both seasoned and beginning runners.
Proceeds from the run will go to Texas Exes Houston funded scholarships for students in the Houston area.
This year's swag will include Longhorn Dri-Fit short sleeve technical shirts and 2 1/2-inch belt buckle medals and will be guaranteed to those registering before January 13th. Registration for the 5k will be $35, $45 for the 10k and $25 for the Kids' 1k Fun Run for children ages four to thirteen until December 12th when prices will go up. Virtual runs will also be available.
Race packets may be picked up on race day from 8:00 am to 8:45 am at the race site.
Top female and male finishers for the 5k and 10k will get 4-inch logo belt buckle medals while the top three finishers in each age division will get 3-inch belt buckle medals.
Races like this often have paper products such as bibs and directional signage printed at local print shops.
The 2026 Lone Star Stampede Texas Exes Houston Chapter will take place Saturday, January 31st at Brazos River Park, 18427 Southwest Freeway. The 10k will start at 9:15 am followed by the 5k at 9:25 am. The Kids 1k will begin at 9:00 am.
