Sugar Land runs the Summer Meltdown
Runners here in Sugar Land are readying for the Summer Meltdown Half Marathon Houston coming to Sugar Land towards the end of August.
Along with the marathon, the event will feature a 5k, 6.6-mile quarter marathon, a 1-mile, and a 20-yard kids run for little ones 10 and under. The course will take participants through summer nature on shaded trails.
The untimed 1-mile is designed for all ages and experience levels. The 5k, quarter marathon, and half marathon will be chipped timed.
Youth (kids 12 and under) registration for the 5k and the quarter marathon will be $15. Kids' run registration will be $15, and 1-mile run entry for all ages will be $20. The 5k and quarter marathon will cost $36 each, and those running the half marathon will pay $60.
Swag will include T-shirts sporting this year's event graphic design, award pins to the male and female top three finishers in 14 age categories, the Big Foot trophy to overall male and female finishers, and refreshments and snacks after the run.
Race packets may be picked up from 5:30 am to 6:45 am on race day. The Kids Dash will begin at 6:55 am, followed by the main race start at 7:00 am.
