Sugar Land runs for autism
The 2021 Houston 8K/5K/1K will take place in mid-September. This will be a fundraiser to aid Autism Speaks in its efforts to support those people that have autism and to help our community increase acceptance and understanding. The goal for this year’s campaign is $150,000,000.
Race participants will receive commemorative event shirts featuring this year’s graphic design and finisher medals.
The event will be both in-person and family-friendly virtual as runners and walkers can either race or walk with others starting at Sugar Land Square or by themselves and their friends at their own times and locations.
Many teams as well as individuals are raising money by contacting their families, friends, coworkers and neighbors for donations.
Packet pickup will be RunOn! By Jack Rabbit in Houston at 2012 W. Gray Street, Thursday September 6th from 4:00 t0 7:00 pm and here in town at Sugar Land Town Square, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 17th.
Registration will begin at 6:00 am on race day. Opening ceremonies will start at 7:00 am followed by the 1K Kid’s Fun Run at 7:15 am. The 8K starts at 7:30 am and the 5K at 7:45 am. Awards and closing ceremony will be at 8:30 am.
