Sugar Land celebrates holiday season

Sugar Land’s Holiday Lights and Christmas Tree Lighting will usher in the festive season over the coming weeks.

The 11th Sugar Land Holiday Lights will be reopening tonight (November 22) and will have more than 3.5 million lights, light shows, a light maze, a 40-foot lit-up tree, and 10 themed areas. Santa will be meeting guests until December 23. New this year will be the synthetic ice rink.

Special nights will include Goodwill Mondays, when a full bag of usable items will equal a free ticket; Silverbell Tuesday, with discounted tickets for fans over the age of 55; and Lights and Leashes nights when four-legged friends are invited. Center Field Cinema will show the movie "Elf" on December 4, and "The Grinch" on December 11. A New Year's Eve Ball will also take place at the Holiday Lights.

Holiday Lights will run from November 22 to Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Constellation Field, 1 Stadium Drive.

Sugar Land Town Square, 2711 Plaza Drive, will also hold its annual free Christmas Tree Lighting, with photo opportunities such as Santa's sleigh and the lighted snow booth, eight-foot snowslide, and blue LED-lit swings. The main stage will feature local dance groups, a live band, and performances by local schools.

Photos taken this early can still go to local print shops to be added to holiday family newsletters.

Sugar Land's Christmas Tree Lighting will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 6.
