Palestinian group hosts annual festival
Palestinian American Cultural Center-Houston will be presenting its 10th Annual Houston Palestinian Festival in Sugar Land soon.
The family-friendly two-day cultural event will feature Palestinian heritage and culture through food, art, dance, and music.
The new venue is much larger, and guests can experience art and cultural exhibits in the 2,000 square foot cultural hall, Palestinian food such as grilled kabobs and shawarmas (roasted shaved meat sandwiches) from area vendors, and a large bazaar with vendors selling art, Henna tattoos, embroidery, and clothing.
There will be a display of a traditional Palestinian wedding, cultural dancers, and music from various areas around Palestine, and a kids’ entertainment section that has been made larger this year.
Organizations that hold events such as this often have pictures taken during the event that usually go to local print shops to become part of the following year’s advertising media.
Proceeds from the festival will go to grants and scholarships for Palestinian students and student groups, and to international and local Palestinian charities.
Single-day adult tickets are $21, and single-day kids’ tickets for children ages four to twelve will be $11. Kids three and under will not need tickets. Premier tickets for either day will be $62 and will include admission to covered seating in the Premier Lounge, as well as a parking pass.
The 10th Houston Palestinian Festival will take place next weekend, November 5 and 6, from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Crown Festival Park, 18355 Southwest Freeway.
