The Spring Independent School District (ISD) held its annual Employee Recognition Banquet on May 11 in the ballroom of the Hilton Houston North, where one lucky teacher received a new Ford vehicle and another was awarded a vacation cruise.
Hundreds of the staff of Spring ISD came together to recognize the achievement of their colleagues. Soon-to-be-retirees were honored, along with several other categories of winners in the school district. The awards were presented by KPRC News’ Syan Rhodes, who performed master of ceremonies duties for the event.
The highpoint of the event came when the Spring ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year, Shelly Fine, was announced and presented with a new vehicle courtesy of the Planet Ford dealership. The car dealership also provided a vacation cruise to the Spring ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, Jamie El-Aazami. In addition to these annual awards, a $5,000 scholarship to one of the district’s students is provided by Planet Ford every year as well.
Each of these teachers will likely be wanting to contact their local Print company to have their recent honor included on their Business Cards.
Fine and El-Aazami were selected from 10 finalists for their honors. Fine has worked at Jenkins Elementary for the past 20 years and teaches a structured learning class. Meanwhile, Spring H.S. teacher El-Aazami coaches softball in addition to being an English teacher.
