In October, Success on the Spectrum will host its fifth annual Autism Carnival in Spring for local children on the spectrum to enjoy a day of free sensory-friendly festivities.
Success on the Spectrum is a nationwide organization that provides therapy services to children with autism spectrum disorder, with the goal to improve life skills and reduce destructive behaviors such as tantrums and biting or kicking themselves or others. The organization hosts numerous sensory-friendly events at no cost to the community.
October’s carnival will feature game booths with games like bean-bag-toss, pick-a-duck, fish-bowl-toss, and race car games. There will also be face painting offered and inflatables to bounce in. Volunteers dressed as popular superheroes will be stationed at photo booths. Low-volume, kid-friendly music will be played, and there will be a calming station set up for anyone that needs a quiet space. Local food trucks will be out selling a selection of food and beverages. The event is outdoors, but there will be indoor restrooms available in Success on the Spectrum’s building.
Volunteer-led events like this may send special Invitations to charity-oriented businesses in the community to ask them to participate in the event. Such invitation can be easily printed at local Stationery printers.
The carnival is scheduled for October 15 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. It will take place on 23221 Aldine Westfield Road.
