Next month, ABC Houston will host the Kayak Rendezvous event in Spring for novice kayakers to explore the urban waterways.
America’s Boating Club Houston is a non-profit fraternal organization whose mission is to educate the public on safe boating practices and improve the boating experience for everyone. ABC Houston partners with various maritime-oriented organizations to provide boating education and water stewardship to the community.
Kayaking Rendezvous is designed for kayakers who have taken the Level 1 Kayaking Class and are members of ABC Houston. Those who are new to the program are also invited to participate after ABC Houston completes a short but thorough safety examination of their paddle craft and equipment. There will also be a pre-safety meeting and an overview of the Level 1 waterways to be traversed. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kayaks as the boating club only has six kayaks available for use, so it will be first come, first served. Required equipment includes a lifejacket, visual signaling device, and sound device.

The kayaking trip is slated for Saturday, December 10 from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm. It will take place on the waters of John Pundt Park, located at 4129 Spring Creek Drive, Spring.
