Students will be able to attend a month of robotics classes this fall. These will focus on multiple skills, allowing the students to learn at their own paces individually and also potentially collaborate in groups.
Registration is $125, but covers the entire month of classes. It is not possible to register for a single class, and credits will not be issued for missed classes. After observation, students will be divided into smaller sections based on knowledge, skillset, and learning style.
Some of the issues the students will work on include having a robot complete a task, solving problems in the construction of the robot, using mechanisms in different ways, and improving on robots and designs. Robots may be programmed to lift or pull items, dig or shovel, or even place something. All materials for the class will be provided.
Meetings are held at the World Champions Center off Birnham Woods Drive. Parking is available onsite on the dirt lot.
Events like this tend to benefit from flyer printing. Registration can often be done by mail as well as online, and more people are likely to look at a flyer brought home from school, especially as this program is designed as an after school program.
The first session will be held November 1, and will meet for the next four Thursdays, through November 29. Each class is one hour, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
