Spring baking class to feel the spirit of Halloween

This October, The Woodlands Cookie Classes will hold a special Halloween-themed sugar cookie decorating class for the Spring community.

The Woodlands Cookie Classes provides in-person sugar cookie decorating classes for beginners. Such classes often follow a special theme, such as the spooky Halloween theme next month. The classes are led by Heather and Kim, two experienced professional bakers who own The Cake Whisperer USA and Wesley's Treats Hallie's Sweets, respectively.

No baking or decorating experience is necessary to attend the two-hour long class. It is designed to help those who have either never decorated with royal icing or for those who have had difficulty working with it in the past. All materials, including pre-baked cookies, will be included in the class fee.

There will be a PowerPoint presentation before the hands-on portion so that attendees have a better understanding of royal icing techniques. After the class, participants will walk away with a box of decorated cookies, as well as the recipes for the icing and the cookie base.

Classes involving PowerPoint presentations may employ a team of graphic design artists to make sure that the presentation is aesthetically pleasing for viewers.

The baking class is scheduled for October 7 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. It will be held at Thistle Draftshop, located at 5210 Farm to Market 2920, Suite 100. The class fee stands at $70.
