At MainStreet America in Spring a new ‘cue joint, MC Barbeque & Southern Kitchen, recently opened its doors.
Replacing Main Kitchen at MainStreet America, the new venture will be under the care of Chef Lawrence Fogarty. MainStreet America is also home to the Main Course Cooking School, a furniture store and a dozen designer showcase homes. Fogarty’s new concept, as its name would imply, emphases smoked meat and the best of traditional Southern cooking.
The restaurant’s barbecue line features Fogerty’s own creation, Texas Sweet Heat BBQ sauce. Among the smoked and BBQ items are pulled pork, pork spare ribs, brisket, jalapeno-cheddar sausage and turkey breast.
Representing the establishment’s Southern cooking side are boudin balls, black pepper vinegar glazed Southern chicken wings as starters and smokehouse gumbo, Green Goddess Gulf shrimp salad and fried chicken Cobb salad among other main courses.
To boost the appeal of its main dishes and starters, a variety of sides are offered such as sweet slaw, potato salad, creamed corn, beans and burnt ends mac and cheese. Additionally, several sandwiches are featured, such as smoked brisket and grilled cheese, smoked pecan and chickpea salad sandwich, a pork Cubano and a griddled Reuben combined with smoked brisket.
Those who wish to try out MC Barbeque & Southern Kitchen can do so 11:00 am – 3:00 pm daily.
