Culinary event to tempt the taste buds

Locals in and around Spring can indulge in fine foods later this month.

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Taste of the Town is a culinary offering that allows the community to get a taste of food from local businesses. Restaurants will offer small bites and beverage companies will be giving out refreshments. From appetizers to desserts, there will be a wide variety of food to try.

The Texas Department of Agriculture will be providing locally produced foods like salsa to sample or buy. Along with food, there will also be a silent auction. In addition, guests will have the chance to vote for their favorite restaurant.

Tickets cost $25 for adults or $30 at the door. Children under 10 are $15. There are also several group ticket packages allowing people to purchase sets of tickets for a reduced price. For instance, the copper package costs $130 for eight tickets and the double platinum package is $930 for 100.

With more than 5,000 guests expected at the event, it will be an opportunity for businesses to get the word out about their product or services. No doubt some companies used a flyer printing service to create handouts to distribute at the event.

The tasting takes place on January 29 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, located on 1601 Lake Robbins Drive.
