Athletes lace up their running shoes

Runners in and around Spring can start training for one of several races. Athletes can choose between a marathon, half-marathon, 5K, and marathon relay.

The Woodlands Marathon features a relatively flat course and finishes on a waterway path. Along the way, there will be water stops and ‘cheer zones’. Participants will be given swag such as T-Shirts, a finisher’s medal and certificate, and finish line photo proofs.

After the event, participants can enjoy a post-race festival with food and drinks.

Families can also take part in the '4th Annual Pathfinder Pediatric 2K Fun Run and Walk'. The event will take participants over a waterway and near parks, before ending at the marathon’s finish line.

Registration costs $140 for the marathon, $115 for the half-marathon, $40 for the 5K ,and $25 for the family run. The marathon relay costs $400 for four people and $230 for two people.

Individuals can also register, for a higher price, at the health and fitness expo which will take place on February 26 and 27 at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Admission to the expo is free. No doubt vendors have used a business card printing service to design cards to hand out at the event.

The 2K family fun run and walk will begin on February 27 at 6:30 pm. The Woodlands Marathon and half marathon will take place on February 28 at 7:00 am, with the 5K run starting at 7:10 am.
