Pawtucket runs the Jingle Run 5k
Many runners here in Pawtucket will be heading to the popular Jingle Run 5k coming in early December.
Adult pre-registration will be $36 and may be purchased online. The Youth Run for kids under the age of 13 may also be done online and will cost $17. Adult registration on event day will be $38 and $20 for the kids' race.
Swag will include t-shirts sporting the Jingle Run graphic design, chip timing, and finisher medals. Those running the Run Rhody Grand Slam will be receiving their hats and special finisher's medals after this race.
Awards will go to the top three overall finishers and to winners in seven age groups. Awards will also go to the winning team. (Winners will be decided by using the top three team finishers' times.)
Race packets will be available from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, December 6th at Marathon Sports, One Providence Place, and at the event.
The course will take runners and walkers through downtown Providence beginning and ending at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Francis Street and running along the river.
Participants are asked to bring unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, and also donated to Amos House, a non-profit charity organization that serves the homeless and unemployed.
The Providence Downtown Jingle Run 5k will take place December 8th beginning at 10:00 am. The Kids Elves 1/4-mile run will begin at 9:30 am.
