Hermitage session to explore social media safety

Hermitage PD has scheduled a series of community safety talks, and one that will provide an insider’s scoop on safe social media use has been planned for early April.

The city and its police department will be providing the public with a free opportunity to brush up on safety issues, and no advance registration is needed to participate. The session will run for one hour.

The focus of the activity will be teenagers and social media, and it will help those who take part to navigate these sites safely. Various threats that may be encountered and how to recognize them will be discussed, and cyberbullying and the importance of considering the long term consequences of posting pictures or other content online will be included as well. Questions or concerns about the workshop can be directed to Officer Staples at 724-983-6780 ext.1766.

Community engagement is often one of the tasks undertaken by a city’s police department. Stationery printers will be happy to prepare mailers, Flyers and other publications that keep residents informed about activities and events on offer in their home area.

This opportunity for families and other interested parties to learn about safe social media use is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, starting at 6:00 pm. The venue for the session will be the City building at 800 North Hermitage Road.
