Solon to put together fall festival

Two local organizations will hold an annual family-friendly festival in October at Solon Community Park.

The Solon Fall Festival is a community experience where guests can partake in fall-themed activities while browsing an artisan market. The event is organized by the Solon Center for the Arts and the Solon Recreation Department. A few of this year's activities include log sawing demonstrations, hayrides, and a petting zoo. Children can enjoy the festival's pumpkin patch and participate in a crafts project. There will also be backyard games set up at the park.

Live music entertainment for the fall festival will be provided by Mike Gorrell and the Travelin' Johnsons. Gorrell is the founder of the Northwest Territory Bluegrass Band and has released several original songs, including Good Old Boys and Full Moon Over Georgia. The Travelin' Johnsons is a band consisting of Wes McCraw and Theresa Rose. The group has performed in many cities throughout Ohio, including Medina, Canton, and Cleveland.

The fall fest will take place on Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Gorrell will start his performance at 10:00 am, and the Travelin' Johnsons will begin playing at noon. Businesses can email specialevents@solonohio.org to learn more about becoming a vendor at the festival. Those who have stalls at fests similar to this may use banner printing to showcase their brand identity to eventgoers.
