Solon to broadcast conversation between two authors

Two talented writers will be holding a discussion over Zoom in January for the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Solon.

A conversation with Jamie Lyn Smith and Alison Stine is a program where viewers can learn about skilled writers. The event is part of a series of author discussions organized by the library. Smith also works as an editor for BreakBread Magazine and has written pieces for publications like the Mississippi Review and Bayou. Stine was born in Ohio and has earned grants from National Geographic. She has published her works in The New York Times and The Atlantic.

Jamie Lyn Smith will be discussing her book Township during the program. Her novel is a collection of stories about characters who live in Appalachian Ohio. She uses empathy and humor in the book to closely examine family ties. Alison Stine will talk about her novel Trashlands. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting in Appalachia where all global powers have agreed not to produce plastics.

The conversation between Smith and Stine will be held on Monday, January 31st from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Those interested in listening to their discussion must register in advance to be given a link to the Zoom meeting. Libraries that create programs akin to this may use poster printing for advertising them to patrons.
