The AARP Fraud Watch Network™ will be offering a class on scams in October at a local library in Solon.
Fraud Basics: The Scam Landscape & Staying Safe is a program on the latest scam tactics that criminals use to target their victims. The goal of the class is to help people protect themselves from fraudulent activity by identifying potential scams. The seminar will also show people what action to take if they ever become victims of fraud. The course will be at the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s branch in Solon.
The AARP Fraud Watch Network™ is an organization that helps people avoid scams by providing educational resources. Those who have been targeted by scams can call the group’s trained fraud specialists for guidance. The resource center offered by the network has many tip sheets people may use to identify and avoid common scams. Kathy Stokes is the organization’s Director of Fraud Prevention, and Amy Nofziger is the Director of Victim Support.
The class on scams will be on Monday, October 2nd from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There is no cost to attend the seminar, and people may register for the presentation online. Groups that offer helpful courses such as this can increase the turnout for their lessons by using flyer printing to advertise the programs throughout their communities.
