Solon High School will use a new fundraising platform to raise money for the Solon Council of PTA's in May.
Magic Gives Back is a new type of fundraising where students can earn money for a cause by selling tickets to a variety and illusion show. The program will feature performances from Rick Smith Jr., a card-throwing illusionist, and Michael Mage, a comedic magician. The audience will also get to take part in the show. All of the program's lighting, sound, and special effects are provided by Magic Gives Back to help schools turn their gyms or auditoriums into elevated performance spaces.
Students have several incentives for participating in the fundraiser. Those who sell six tickets to the event will get to meet with the performers and receive their autographs, and kids who sell eight tickets will be invited to an exclusive pizza party. The top seller can choose between receiving a Nintendo Switch or an Oculus Quest 2 as a prize. A grand prize winner will be given a Disney vacation for four people.
The performances will be held on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7. General admission to the show can be purchased for $20, and preferred seating will cost $25. Tickets for the front row of the venue are $50. Schools that host events like this may use poster printing to inform students about the fundraisers.
