Solon rotary club to hold themed fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Solon will be holding a fundraiser in February at the Solon Community Center to support two causes.

A Night at the Races is a themed charity event where people can bid on auction packages to support the organization’s projects and causes. The rotary club’s newest global service project is decreasing the child mortality rate in Pakistan by using donations to buy equipment for a pediatric emergency room. Another portion of the funds from the rotary’s event will benefit Solon Community Living, which is an organization interested in creating sustainable housing for those with disabilities.

The Rotary Club of Solon is a group involved with several beneficial causes. The organization has helped those in El Salvador gain access to clean drinking water and provided shelters to people through ShelterBox. The club has also sponsored projects such as the Annual 4-Way Speech Contest, Annual Police & Fire Awards, and the Solon Mobile Food Pantry. The group was chartered in 2010.

The fundraising event will be held on Saturday, February 11 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets to the program are $50 per person and will include heavy appetizers and beer. Professionals 35 and younger can pay $35 to attend the event. Groups like the Rotary Club of Solon can use brochure printing to educate people about their charitable projects.
