Print Companies in Solon

Isaac Bull was an early settler in the area that became Solon, Ohio. He named his son Lorenzo Solon Bull, allegedly after the ancient Athenian lawmaker, Solon, known as the “father of democracy.” It is the junior Bull for whom the community is named, and today, the city is noted for the vibrancy of its business community, which is supported by local Print companies.

Early development

The geographical area influenced Solon's development to a great degree. The first settlers of European descent to arrive found extensive wetlands, which resulted in them mostly ignoring what would have been the logical center of town. When the Presbyterian Church was built in 1834, it was placed on pilings driven into the ground to a depth of four or five feet to stabilize it. However, once the issues were resolved, Solon developed arable farmland, and began producing wheat and corn, and establishing dairy farms – including five factories that made cheese.

Information about the early days of the community can be found at the Solon Historical Society, which was founded in 1968. They keep Books on the history of Solon, maintain a museum, produce a newsletter and more. They could work with a catalog printing company to devise a listing of their holdings.

Zoning makes a city

A combination of geography and carefully considered zoning ordinances led to the development of Solon into a community that has a strong business sector and attractive residential areas. City officials devised a comprehensive zoning plan that kept residential areas separate from industrial concerns, creating an industrial base that did not impact residents' quality of life. In addition, most of the retail and commercial activities are concentrated in the center of town, making it simple for residents to access them. Zoning the city in this way resulted in a liveable place that supports industry and business. The difficult terrain led to zoning decisions that ultimately worked in the community's favor.

The city could work with brochure printers to create a welcome pamphlet for new residents and businesses, highlighting the advantages of locating a business in Solon, or moving to the city.

All businesses need professional supplies to operate, and two of the most important are official Letterheads and Business Cards. Letterheads must be attractive and professional, as it is may be the first contact an individual has with the organization. Stationery printers have the expertise to create the appropriate product.

Business Cards are also vital, since they are used in organizational outreach efforts that ultimately can gain new customers. They have to be professional but also memorable – qualities that business card printing experts know how to attain.

Culture

Although Solon is a small city, it has many cultural opportunities. The Solon Center for the Arts provides classes in theater, dance, music, and art. In addition, the Solon Philharmonic Orchestra calls the city home, and hosts a Young Artists Concert Competition every year.

Events like this can be successfully publicized using banner printing, perhaps placing a banner above the door to welcome attendees to various performances.

From a smoothly functioning business sector, to pleasant neighborhoods, to cultural events, Solon has something for everyone.
