National exercise association to offer workshop in Solon

The National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) will hold an event in Solon where aspiring coaches can learn about bones.

Senior Bone Building is a one-day educational program where trainers can learn about the importance of bone health. Those who take part in NETA’s workshop will be taught the basics of bone physiology. The instructor also covers the basic components of bone-building exercises. Participants in the lecture will leave knowing how to create their own bone-building exercises for individuals or groups. The presenter will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher and a valid NCCA-accredited fitness certification.

The NETA was created by Michael Wollman in 1977 to provide fitness professionals with educational programs. The group was originally known as the National Dance-Exercise Instructors Training Association. All classes offered by NETA use a hands-on approach to education. People can use the organization to earn special certifications in topics such as senior fitness, indoor cycling, advanced Pilates, and nutrition.

The workshop on bone building will be held on Sunday, September 22 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Tickets to the presentation will cost $79 per person. The workshop will take place at the Solon Senior Center. People who complete the class can earn three NETA credits and three ACE credits. Associations that offer similar workshops to this may use stationery printers to provide their attendees with writing utensils and notebooks.
