String Fever: The Fiddle Around the World is a live performance where people can enjoy music from Jim Kelley, a professional fiddler with over 40 years of playing experience. There is no age limit to attend Kelley’s performance.
James Kelly is a fiddler and composer from Ireland who has created more than 1,000 tunes. Kelly is from County Clare and learned how to play the fiddle from his father, John Kelly. He has won several awards, including Gradam Ceoil TG4 2006 Irish Musician of the Year and the Florida Folk Heritage Award. Kelly has also performed with groups such as Patrick Street and Planxty. He has released several CDs, like The Ring Sessions and Melodic Journeys. People can take private lessons and tune workshops with Kelly over Skype and Zoom.
The fiddling performance will take place on Monday, November 18th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There is no cost for library patrons to watch Kelly’s fiddle performance, though all guests must register to secure their spots because space is limited.
