The Solon Center for the Arts has partnered with the Venner Clarinet Quartet to bring morning entertainment to the community throughout the summer.
Those interested in starting their morning with a public clarinet performance can attend the Coffee & Music series offered at the Solon Center for the Arts. The event is an outdoor show where people can bring lawn chairs to enjoy the concert. The program will feature many talented musicians from the Venner Clarinet Choir, including Vicki Smith, Caroline Stilwell, Marc Paige, and Amy Dragga. Performers for concerts like this can bring Business Cards to give to future clients.
Theodore Johnson created the Venner Clarinet Choir in 2013. Johnson is a retired member of the Cleveland Orchestra and serves as the group’s current musical director. The conductor of the clarinetists is Jim Adkins, who was a former student of Johnson. The choir performs at several venues throughout the year, including the Cleveland Public Library and the Cuyahoga County Public Library. The group also plays virtual concerts on Facebook Live.
The Coffee & Music series will be held on June 8, July 6, and August 17 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Guests are not required to register or pay any fees to attend the show. People interested in upcoming and past performances from the Venner Clarinet Choir can find more information on its website.
