Tribute band to play at Medina buffet

A Neil Diamond tribute band will be giving an intimate concert during a buffet in February at Williams on the Lake in Medina.

Dinner with The Diamond Project is a program that invites Neil Diamond fans to enjoy a meal while listening to the group’s performance. The band can perform several hits, including If You Know What I Mean, I’ve Been This Way Before, and Forever in Blue Jeans. The group is dedicated to replicating the style of a genuine Neil Diamond concert by bringing excitement and energy into their live performances, rather than using a studio recording of Diamond’s music.

The Diamond Project was founded in 2012 by Gary Gomez, a lifelong fan of Neil Diamond who realized he sounded like the singer. Other members of the group include Alan Sponseller, Caylee Volker, and Dr. Walt Vieweg. Sponseller is the band’s trombonist who started playing the instrument in 1965, and Volker is the project’s trumpet player. Vieweg plays the saxophone, flute, and harmonica. He also started studying music when he was six.

The meal and concert will be held on Friday, February 10 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Those interested in attending the Neil Diamond tribute concert may pay $60 per ticket. Guests can also pay for drinks at the buffet venue’s cash bar. Bands such as The Diamond Project can make a custom Logo Design to use on their branded merchandise.
