Medina walk to bring historical figures to life

Three local organizations will organize an event in Medina where people can meet with notable historical figures from the city.

Spirits of the Past is a recurring experience that teaches attendees about the local history of Medina’s pioneers through dramatic reenactments by costumed actors. The event is a collaborative effort between The Medina County Arts Council, Medina County Historical Society, and the Medina County Show Biz Company. People can hear stories from characters like Lathrup Seymour, Rufus Ferris, and Elizabeth McDowell. The walk will take guests around Medina Square to listen to the actors.

The Medina County Show Biz Company is a nonprofit organization that offers theatrical experiences and enriches the community. The group began in 1979 and held its first live performance in 1980. Many shows are performed at the theater, including A Christmas Carol, High School Musical, and The Wizard of Oz. The company offers scholarships to Medina County high school students and has volunteer opportunities.

The historical walk will be held from Thursday, September 5th to Saturday, September 7th. Tickets to the experience will cost $7 for adults and $4 for students. Admission can be bought in advance at the John Smart House Museum. People will start the tour from behind the Medina County Administration Building. Cities that host educational experiences like this may use flyer printing to advertise their programs to more locals.
