The Sérénité Restaurant in Medina will hold a special dinner in July to celebrate France's Bastille Day.
The Bastille Day Pig Roast is a dining event where guests can enjoy a meal prepared by Chef Gilbert Brenot while listening to live music. Brenot is the executive chef of Edwins Leadership & Restaurant Institute and was the former owner of Maxi's In Little Italy. The dinner will include mac and cheese, roasted herb potatoes, and lemon cherry panna cotta. Participants can participate in a cocktail hour before the meal that includes a complimentary drink and shrimp cocktail.
Bastille Day is a national French holiday that celebrates a rebellion that marked the beginning of the French Revolution. A group attacked the Bastille in Paris on July 14th, 1789 to release several prisoners who were held by order of the country's king. People often celebrate the holiday with speeches, parades, and fireworks. Those outside France also honor the date by playing French music and cooking French dishes.
The pig roast will be held on Sunday, July 14th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The cocktail hour will be from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The cost to attend the meal is $75 per person. Those interested in the celebration can reserve their spots by calling Sérénité Restaurant. Businesses that hold similar cultural experiences to this can use printing services to make special ads for their programs.
