The Medina Community Recreation Center is turning 15 years of age soon, and is inviting everyone to the party.
The center offers many resources to help Medina residents remain healthy and improve their fitness, including a fitness room with free weights, a competition pool, a leisure pool, a track that both walkers and joggers can use, and programs for seniors, preschoolers, and toddlers.
On the anniversary, the center will have its track open, along with the fitness room and several areas in the gym. Visitors will be able to go swimming as well.
The admission for the day is one food item, but the center has asked for very specific foods, which will be donated to the Feeding Medina County effort. Acceptable donations are a 16-ounce plastic jar of peanut butter, or 20 ounces of jelly in squeezable form. The center is also looking for unsweetened, natural-juice fruit packed either in aluminum cans or plastic cups, 10.5 ounce cans of either tomato or chicken noodle soup, tuna fish in five or seven ounce cans, or macaroni and cheese in pouches, Boxes, or microwaveable cups.
People who join the center on the anniversary will be given 15% off their new memberships. The party takes place on Presidents’ Day, next Monday, February 19.
Events like this are even more fun when organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a handout to make it easier for visitors to find their way around.
