For the 41st year, Medina residents will be able to enjoy the work of artists from around the country this weekend.
‘Art in the Park’ will bring in local artists, as well as those from across Ohio and neighboring states, with some even traveling from as far as Florida. There will be approximately 130 artists at the show, which is a juried event and is free to the public.
The featured artist at Art in the Park this year is Russ Shaffer, who makes his own paper and then uses it to make embossed engravings. Many other works will be available across different media, such as watercolors, jewelry, prints, stained glass, pottery, photography, and blown glass.
Judges will award first, second and third place in each of four categories of fine art. They will also give honorable mentions in each of the four categories, and name a Best of Show to the overall winner.
Art in the Park is slated to run from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in Uptown Park in Medina, this Sunday (July 20). The event is sponsored by the Medina County Art League.
Since the show is outdoors, League officials might consider working with a banner printing company to create flags and decorative items to bring even more color and movement to the yearly event.
